Pro Golf Goes High-Tech with the Debut of the TGL Presented by SoFi

January 16, 2025

Tomorrow’s Golf League (TGL) Presented by SoFi made its highly anticipated debut on January 7, bringing cutting-edge technology to the highest echelons of professional golf. Founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TMRW Sports in partnership with the PGA TOUR, this first-of-its-kind indoor league brings together six teams from six cities. Each team features four top players competing in simulator golf matches at the SoFi Center, which was purpose-built for the TGL at Florida’s Palm Beach State College.

With 12 sponsors—including Samsung, PGA TOUR Superstore, Best Buy, Genesis Motor, KPMG, and Toptracer—from a wide range of categories, the TGL aims to reimagine the fan experience while providing a singular stage for golfers to showcase their skills in weekly matchups broadcast in prime time.

Following is a snapshot of the partnership portfolios of TGL players from the league’s first two competitions (ranked by number of deals), and a few of their endorsements:

January 7: New York Golf Club vs. The Bay Golf Club

The Bay Golf Club players:

  • Wyndham Clark: 14 (SoFi, T-Mobile, Titleist)
  • Shane Lowry: 14 (Mastercard, BMW, NetJets)
  • Min Woo Lee: 6 (Callaway, Lululemon, ADP)
  • Ludvig Åberg: 4 (adidas, Rolex, Titleist)

New York Golf Club players:

  • Matt Fitzpatrick: 11 (Rolex, Titleist, Skechers)
  • Cameron Young: 10 (Mastercard, Cisco Systems, FootJoy)
  • Rickie Fowler: 9 (Rolex, NetJets, Puma)
  • Xander Schauffele: 7 (adidas, Callaway, Descente)

January 14: Jupiter Links vs. Los Angeles Golf Club

Jupiter Links players:

  • Max Homa: 15 (BMW, Lululemon, Mastercard)
  • Tiger Woods: 13 (Upper Deck, Monster Energy, Rolex)
  • Kevin Kisner: 7 (Evans Transportation Company, Wilson, E-Z-Go)
  • Tom Kim: 6 (Nike, Titleist, Genesis Motor)

Los Angeles Golf Club players:

  • Justin Rose: 16 (Titlelist, Mastercard, Morgan Stanley)
  • Sahith Theegala: 11 (FootJoy, IBM, PING)
  • Collin Morikawa: 9 (TaylorMade, adidas, US Bank)
  • Tommy Fleetwood - 6 (Nike, TaylorMade, NetJets)

Justin Rose leads as the most endorsed player across both matches with 16 deals. With 14 partnerships each, Wyndham Clark and Shane Lowry rank as the most sponsored athletes in the kickoff competition on January 7. Clark, notably, is the only player who partners with SoFi.

Expect more exciting matches as the TGL season––which runs through March 4––ramps up. On January 21, New York Golf Club will tee off against Atlanta Drive GC (Patrick Cantlay, Billy Horschel, Lucas Glover, and Justin Thomas); Cantlay, with 16 deals, ties Justin Rose for the most deals across the league. Boston Common Golf (Keegan Bradley, Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, and Adam Scott) will take to the virtual links against Jupiter Links on January 27.

The TGL presents an arguably unprecedented opportunity for brands to connect with a tech-savvy, sports-minded audience, while aligning with the pioneering technology and elite athleticism that defines this next-generation competition. Whether it’s through immersive fan experiences, cross-industry partnerships, or high-profile athlete endorsements, look for more savvy sponsors to invest in the league as its popularity grows.
